Robin Phillips Sings & Plays: Harry Connick jr

In this programme, the Robin Phillips Trio pays tribute to the music of one his biggest inspirations, Harry Connick Jr, from his most recognisable period 1989-1999. During this decade Harry shot to international fame with the When Harry Met Sally soundtrack and his ‘New York Swing’ albums such as We Are In Love and Blue Light, Red Light.

Joined by bass and drums, Robin will perform jazz standards brought new life by Connick Jr and a collection of his original tunes, including: We Are In Love, Recipe For Love, It Had To Be You, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, and With Imagination.

The trio will also include songs from the ‘New Orleans Funk’ albums She and Start Turtle including: I Just Whispered Your Name, City Beneath The Sea, and Hear Me In The Harmony which reveal Harry’s close connection to the city.
